Freshers Week

Freshers Week, what exactly IS Freshers Week?
Well, in my opinion, it should consist of meeting a bunch of people at your university, in your class and then getting totally wasted until stupid o'clock. So yeah, that happened, but also some pretty irrelevant stuff happened too.

First there was a pathetic Student Services lecture on which was pointless. One comment did have many students in fits of laughter 'Shamefully, we do not have a chapel on site but we do have a leaflet.' Yeah, like someone is going to pick up a leaflet on religion. Well they might but there is a church next door to the campus which is what made me laugh.
Secondly, we had a health and safety lecture on how we need to be safe around the campus and not do stupid things. They showed a picture of a student who studied Textiles who had a sewing needle through part of their finger which looked extremely painful and kind of make me think 'You obviously didn't take care.'
Thirdly, this is what got on my nerves the most during this whole week, it had to be the waiting around. If I was to estimate the time I spent sitting in the campus gardens, in the SU or hanging inside my friends hall; it would probably calculate to around 12 hours. Thats like a waste of a day in my opinion.

To be quite frank; FW hasn't been 'my cup of tea' as i expected a lot more to have happened other than 'common sense' lectures about how to be safe and who to turn to if you miss home. All I can say is; ROLL ON MONDAY WHEN THE REAL STUFF HAPPENS!
