Ah I love Birthdays :) Whether it being mine, a family member, a friend or just an acquaintance...I like it.
I love shopping for people's birthdays, I love to see their face light up when they unwrap that last piece of 'over sellotaped' scrapped-like wrapping paper and then start shouting happily that it was what they've always wanted. I just love it.
I'm getting this feeling all of a sudden because it is my mother's birthday next Saturday. Venturing into the local city centre with my father felt good -minus the storm which has hit the UK at this moment in time- because it felt like a bonding session as I never get along with him at times. Walking from shop to shop both trying to agree on a suitable gift for my mother was difficult as we both had different opinions on things. 'I like the green and blue striped shirt' 'But I like this beige cardigan as it suits this miserable weather'. These were the types of comments we were both coming out with. Finally after a few hours, the chosen gifts were found. A bottle of expensive perfume and a pricey checkered shirt. Lovely.
All that's left to do is pray that she loves the gifts, or there will be a few disappointed emotions.
Don't you think it's odd that you feel different when it someone Else's birthday but then when it approaches the month/day of your birthday...The feelings change. You start to say 'Really don't bother, its not a priority' why do people say this? Of course it is a priority, it's your birthday and we want to buy you a present. What I dislike though is when someone asks 'so what do you want? And don't say I don't know' How are we able to think of something on the spot like that. I know I can never do that, I always try and say 'Get me a gift voucher' or if it is a close friend then I'd say 'Well you know what I like, go from there' I know it sounds a little rude but its true though.
Ah well, less than 6 months to go I say....Till my 19th :) Happy times. Then I shall be using my regular sentences 'Get me a gift voucher' and 'You know me, go from there.' :P
